Philosophy has many faces and many angles. There are extensive
fields of study and thought, multiform strata and branches of
philosophy searches. Mean while in different studies quite often
they accentuate only one or another side of this complex phenomenon.
For example they focus their attention on the link “philosophy -
science” or “philosophy – religion” segregated from other questions.
On other occasions they make it into only one universal subject of
philosophy, interested in the inner world of people or a language
etc. Such an artificial compression of a range of problems engenders
poor philosophy images. In principle real philosophy interests apply
to the whole of the multiform social-historical experience.
Consideration of philosophy as a cultural-historical phenomenon
allows us to embrace the whole dynamic complex of its
interconnections and functions. From the historical point of view
philosophy is not initially a primary form of existence. To the
point when philosophy came into being that mankind had already
travelled a long way in history, it stored various experience and
skills and also following those experiences came new sets experience
and skills. The appearance of philosophy is a birth of a very
special secondary stratum of social consciousness, which is aimed at
the comprehension of already existing forms of practice and
culture. Not randomly embodied in the philosophy mode of thought
which applies to the whole culture stratum is called the
critical-reflective. Philosophy addresses not only the past but also
the possibilities of the future.
